I will not lie that I have been extremely busy with my own passion for the past months. I had to sacrifice my gym and my part time art teacher job for priorities, hence THE M.I.A. Life have been difficult, not because of sewing and designing but the pressure my lecturers and dad have been giving.

Just last Saturday, on the 14th of May 2016. I've showcased my Sports Collection in KLIFW 2016, which stands for Kuala Lumpur Indie Fashion Week. Held at Publika Solaris Dutamas, Black Box MAP, KLIFW is a platform for new upcoming designers to showcase their collections on the runway. It was the first ever fashion show they have organize which I expected some hiccups here and there. Of course, no events are 100 percent perfect but I believe, a challenge is always interesting.

Besides showcasing my collection, I had collaborated with NCSM, National Cancer Society Malaysia to work with NCSM's very own cancer survivor to walk the runway during a themed segment called ‪#‎AkuEmpowered‬. It was for a good cause and it was a one in a life time experience especially for the cancer survivors!

My concept for #AkuEmpowered, for the beautiful cancer survivor, Julia is inspired by the traditional Hanbok. A Hanbok which represents royalty, femininity and empowerment, also used during occasions by the Koreans. I had incorporated a fabric which illuminates hues of rainbow when light shines. This rainbow represents her life, where people may see her as an ordinary person but deep within her is a story, a beautiful, colourful story that will be respected.

Thank you Julia for being so amazing, inspiring and so full of life! You are a perfect model and you did so great on stage!
